When an Irish expat dies in Bodrum, Orhan Kaya takes responsibility for ensuring he receives a dignified funeral.

He has considered the Catholic priest, the family, the paperwork and the moral tone of the village. What he has not considered is that dignity can be undone by practical details, and by the deceased himself.

Current Work

What Remains Unsaid is forthcoming in late August 2026.

Set between Istanbul in the 1970s and present-day Bodrum, the novel explores the choices women make, and what they choose to leave unsaid.
