About Süreyya Aydın

Süreyya Aydın writes character-led literary fiction exploring cultural identity, relationships and the consequences of choice.

Her work is concerned with the quiet tensions between expectation and personal freedom, and with the ways private lives are shaped by what remains unspoken.

Her fiction moves between domestic, social and institutional worlds, often focusing on people under pressure: what they notice, what they misunderstand, what they conceal, and what they cannot quite bring themselves to say.

Writing

The Rose That Refused to Fade is a coming-of-age novella set against the backdrop of Turkish and Cypriot traditions. It explores first love, loss and the difficult process of beginning again when early hopes are altered by experience.

What Remains Unsaid is forthcoming in late August 2026. Set between Istanbul in the 1970s and present-day Bodrum, it explores the choices women make, and what they choose to leave unsaid.
